Emeline, nearly eight months old, crawled for the first time just days ago at home in her room.

Is she my little one? Nope, I am “Miss Holly” the Nanny! I hang out with Emeline while her parents, Lorie and Ryan work long hours (she is a restaurant manager and he is a sous chef). I live just four doors down from them, so I take about 22 steps to get to work.

I am now giving my weekdays to Crain’s Chicago Business, recently joining their team in the newsroom. But with restaurant hours, I hope to be there for her first steps too, as long as she doesn’t take them Monday through Friday, from 9am – 6pm.
